Body Flange Thickness (g0) Vs Shell thickness - Vs Allowable values

When we have a bogy flanged implemented in a cylindrical shell we need to define a thickness for shell and a thickness for flange (g0).

Normally the both thickness are the same and the software only take into account the shell value for internal pressure. However in same case the allowable stress for flange material and for shell material can be different. Based on that it is possible to use a thickness for flange (g0) that does not respect the minimum required thickness.

In the file enclosed is possible to see this issue. The allowable value for shell is higher than the allowable value for flange material, it means that the minimum thickness of 5 mm is not enough for flange thickness g0.
